Art Showcase: A is for Anika
So far with this blog I’ve shown off my art and talked a lot about World of Warcraft, but I don’t think this gives you, the reader, the entire picture. There are many things out there that catch my eye, things that thrill me to no end, and I’d like to share them with you! So, I’m starting this Showcase series to do just that, and for this first post I can’t think of anything better to showcase than the lovely works by a is for anika.
I first came across Anika’s work a few days ago and it was definite love at first sight. I haven’t been able to go through all of it yet but everything I’ve seen so far is fantastic. I especially love her Kaleidoscope drawings. Simple shapes and images layered together to create full-bodied works that stand on their own. For someone who works mainly in black and white, I have very specific ideas when it comes to color palettes, and as far as I’m concerned Anika’s completely mastered the art of color. The layering of color is so beautiful and prismatic; it gives great depth to the images.
She has a giveaway going on her blog now. Go sign up and you might end up a proud owner of one of her lovely works. (:
